Friends of Music will present Andrew Warburton (piano) and Ralitza Macheva (violin) on November 21 at 15h00 at the Durban Jewish Centre.
The programme will feature virtuoso works for violin and piano from the 19th century:
Beethoven: Sonata no.8 in G major, Op. 30
no 3
Brahms: Sonata no. 3 in D minor, Op. 108
Fauré: Sonata no 1 in A major, Op.18
Andrew Warburton is acknowledged as one of the finest solo pianists and accompanists in South Africa. He is presently Lecturer in Piano, Director of the Opera School and Choral Academy, and head of Western Classical Performance Studies at the UKZN School of Music. He graduated with a PhD in piano performance in 2018.

Ralitza Macheva was born in Bulgaria. She relocated to South Africa in 2000 where she is the Co-Principal Second Violinist of the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra, Durban.
Her strong devotion to music of the Baroque era resulted in her appointment as Leader of the Durban-based orchestra.

Friends of Music welcomes back to the
Friends of Music stage the brilliant young sisters Mingmei and Gongxuan Zhang.
Both are learners at Our Lady of Fatima School in Durban North and are the
recipients of many awards and prizes for their piano playing.
They will be joined at this concert by their young brother Zhehan. He is a grade three pupil at Chelsea Preparatory School. He has been learning to play the piano for only six months. Their teacher is Liezl-Maret Jacobs Livingstone.

Mingmei: The Lark by M Glinka/Balakirev
Zhehan & Gongxuan: Mrs Van Der Blond by Elna Cobb
Gongxuan: Paganini Variations in the style of modern jazz by Fazil Say
