Baroque 2000 will stage its second-last performance of the 2021 Season on December 5, at 11h30 at the Church of the Mariannhill Monastery.

There will be two high profile local soloists performing on the occasion: Margrit Deppe-Mutsaerts on oboe and Ralitza Macheva on violin. The concerto for oboe by Vivaldi in C major RV447 and the double concerto by Bach for oboe and violin in D minor BWV1060R will be on the programme.

The audience will be treated with some more special works such as the sonata for two violins by the French composer Leclair as well as a bubbly and charming Concerto Grosso by Vivaldi in D minor Op3 No11. The opening of the performance will feature one of Handel’s famous overtures to his multiple operas.

Tickets will be sold at the door @ R170 and there is ample, free and secure parking. The Monastery Tea Garden will be open for refreshments and light meals.
