DSTV HIGHLIGHTS: MAY 6 – 12

New seasons and episodes airing on DStv this week, May 6 to 12, 2022.

May is packed with brand new travel and true crime content, with the premiere of Stephen Fry in Central America (on BBC Earth, DStv Channel 184) and a new season of Caught in the Net (only on ID, DStv Channel 171).

There’s some light-hearted escapism with Say Yes to the Dress Around the World (on TLC, DStv Channel 135) and a chance to catch up on a new season of the popular Living the Dream with Somizi on Showmax.

Here are some of the films to look out for on DStv this May.

 

The Virtuoso

May 8 at 21h00 on M-Net (DStv Channel 101)

Brand new movie Nick Stagliano directs this neo-noir crime thriller about a professional assassin who is given instructions about where his target is going to be – but has no idea what their identity is. He stalks around the city gathering clues and wearing down the patience of his boss. Will he hit the right target? Starring Anson Mount and Anthony Hopkins.

 

Private Eyes S3

May 6, 2022, at 20h00 - Universal TV (DStv Channel 117)

Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson returning as ex-hockey star Matt Shade and his PI partner Angie Everett in a new season that opens with Angie behind bars. Later on, Angie and Matt are hired by a professional basketball player to find out who’s leaking compromising pictures to the press, and elsewhere Angie’s mother needs help tracking down a hacker.

 

Stephen Fry in Central America

May 6, 2022 - Fridays on BBC Earth (DStv Channel 184)

In this brand new four-part travel series, Stephen Fry goes south, exploring pre-Columbian and Latin America by travelling from the Mexican border through the entire Central American isthmus to the border with South America. It's a journey through some of the oldest civilisations on the planet – and some of the most dangerous. This is more than just the beauty of a postcard or the hazy hearsay about drug cartels and banana republics. Stephen Fry gets up close and shows us the real thing.

Death In Paradise

May 9, 2022 - Mondays at 19h00 on BBC Brit (DStv Channel 120)

It’s time to get into a new sun-soaked season of this smash-hit whodunnit murder mystery series.

DI Neville Parker (Ralf Little) has more crimes to solve on the blissful island of Saint Marie, while also dealing with the emotional complications of working at close quarters with DS Florence Cassell (Joséphine Jobert).
