Deadline: Submissions’ call out period ends November 1, 2022
The African Emerging Filmmakers Awards [AEFA] would like to invite all film makers to submit their films. The Awards Ceremony will be on November 27, 2022, venue to be confirmed in due course.
The film submissions’ call out period is now open until the November 1, 2022. Film producers of African origin from all over the continent are invited to submit their films. Films from any genre can be submitted in a DVD format or USB.

Submitted films must be clearly marked as
follows: “The Film Title”, “The Producer’s Name” and “The Producer’s Contact
Details”.

3. Best Supporting Actress

5. Best Actress
6. Best Screenplay/Writer
7. Best Authentic Film
8. Best Costume and Makeup
9. Best African Costume
10. Best Film in Vernacular
11. Best Sound
12. Best Original Music
13. Best Cinematographer
14. Best Editor
15. Best Director
16. Best Artistic Film
17. Best Feature Film
18. Best Documentary
The awards are a fast-growing platform that
encourages high-quality productions and, as a result, local emerging film
producers have had the privilege of witnessing their films air on national
television after having received awards or nominations. The organizers of the
AEFA wish to see more of these films aired on television in the future.
Film submissions may be hand-delivered - during office hours - or sent via post to Durban Film Office c/o Nosipho Hlophe, 41 Margaret Mncadi Avenue, Rennie House, 11th Floor no later than November 1, 2022.

South African filmmakers submitting films must attend the event if nominated. International producers must email an acceptance 30 seconds- 1-minute video clip so that the organizers can play it at the event should the submitted film wins.
Some of the submitted films will be screened in a three-day Mzansi Reel Stories event during December, 2022
These awards are hosted by EThekwini Filmmakers Association, with the assistance of the Durban Film Office, KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission, and KZN EDTEA.
