CLASSIC COMEDY

MacBob and the Durban City Orchestra are “beyond delighted and extremely excited” to present Classic Comedy at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre from November 25 to December 4, 2022.

Classical Comedy is a madcap outrageous musical comedy collaboration between MacBob Productions and the Durban City Orchestra, which comes to the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre on UKZN campus to welcome the festive season.

Join Durban’s own Aaron Mcilroy and Lisa Bobbert as they “boldly go where no right-minded comedians should ever venture - the sacred space of The Orchestra. No sonata is sacred. No movement, unmortified. As they migrate from Bach to Beethoven to Bedlam. A musical celebration fit for the whole family, guaranteed to bring a chuckle to Tchaikovsky, a roar to Radetsky and a burp to Brahms!”

Classical Comedy is directed by the multi-talented Darren King. The Durban City Orchestra (DCO) is one of the longest-running orchestras in the country. It is made up of independent professionals; active and retired music teachers; university music students and part-time musicians who participate voluntarily for the love of music and of performing together.

Performances run at 19h00 on Fridays and Saturdays with a Thursday performance on December 1 at 19h00. Sunday shows are at 15h00. There is also a 15h00 performance on December 3.

Tickets R200 (R180 pensioners and students) booked through Computicket.

Classic Comedy runs at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre at UKZN from November 25 to December 4, 2022.
