COMMUNITY ARTS MENTORSHIP PROGRAMME AUDITIONS

The Playhouse Company will hold auditions for next year’s Community Arts Mentorship Programme (CAMP), which takes place between January 30 and March 31, 2023.

“Funding from the Department of Sport, Arts & Culture’s Incubator Programme enables us to empower community-based artists with valuable skills to pursue careers,” says Ms Lynda Bukhosini, Chief Executive Officer & Artistic Director of The Playhouse Company. “These skills are imparted by theatre professionals working in the arts sector.”

All candidates must be between 18-35 years, and should have tertiary qualification in Dramatic Arts, or a community theatre performance background. Auditions will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023. Call backs on Saturday, January 28, 2023.

Daily, full commitment is a requirement for all participants in the programme.

Actors who are selected into the programme will participate in daily workshops which focus on basic training in various Dramatic Arts disciplines, which include voice production, acting technique, script writing and stage management, etc.

Important Audition Information:

Start time of audition: 09h00.

Venue: Playhouse M 1 (Playhouse Mayville Complex, 78 Ramsey Avenue).

Each candidate will be allocated five minutes for the audition

Walk-ins will not be accepted.

Requirements: Head and shoulder shot or full-length photograph and your profile.

Candidates should arrive at least 30 minutes before their audition time.
