Tribute by Jill Sysum of the Westville Theatre Club
It is with great sadness that we inform our members of the passing of Dave. Born in Newmarket UK, Dave was a long-standing member of the Westville Theatre Club. Dave gave his heart to every production he was in.
I first met Dave in 1985 on the set of a WTC production of Oklahoma in the Westville Civic Centre. He was such a showman and so enjoyed every single minute on stage. He was always such fun to be on stage with. Full of energy, knowledge and a very experienced trooper, who shared his knowledge and encouraged any newcomer.
He never tired of the excitement and love of performing. He performed with many clubs, choirs and people. He and Bernie Davenport formed the Beez & Deez and performed for many years together. He was the epitome of a Song and Dance Man. Dave gave great pleasure to so many people with his comedy and lovely singing voice.
He was always ready to sing for a good cause, but mainly he just loved to sing and perform. We send our sympathy to his wife Sandy who Dave loved so much. We have lost a shining star, a gentleman, and a true artiste. Rest in peace Dave. You will be welcomed to that big production on the heavenly stage. - Jill Sysum
