Officially opening on Thursday February 2, 2023, at 18h00 and running till April 2, 2023, the exhibition venUS & eARTh at The Gallery in Ballito “celebrates our connection with ourselves, our community, our country and our universe during this month of love.”

The gallery explains:

“Venus represents love, sensuality, romance, beauty,

affection and social appeal

Earth represents harvests, abundance, nourishment, fertility,

and the mother-to-child relationship.”

“Venus is our Earth’s sister or twin planet. Our closest planetary neighbour, Venus is our morning and evening star. It is almost always in sight, reminding us of the importance of community connectedness in the universe and here on Earth. We are one, we are all universal beings, all significantly insignificant. Community is everything!

“Featuring established artists, Marke Meyer with his extraordinary bronze sculptures, Major Ndlovu with his magnificent monoprints, as well as local North Coast painter Robert Lagesse – a legend of the community. Ceramicist, Jo Roets joins this exhibition with her magnificent wall sculptures.

“Introducing a few new emerging artists, Jarrod Pretorius, Emily Smithers, Shelley Mattinson and Jane Alexander, to you, our community and visitors.”
