DAVID LANGLEY TRIO FOR CENTRE FOR JAZZ

The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music will present David Langley trio on February 15, 2023, at 17h30.

The repertoire consists of mostly South African music as well as original compositions by David Langley who will be joined by Braydon Hore on bass and Saibian Lee Singh on drums.

The choice of South African repertoire is to ensure authenticity as a South African musician and to contribute towards the country’s very own edition of a South African Jazz Realbook. The music selected amalgamates from our three major cities top composers.

David Langley will play piano, keytar and melodica. The choice of these three instruments is to transcend through different genres using unconventional instruments or which are considered “toys”. These will be performed by Langley at a professional level. Langley is currently working towards his master in music therapy and catapult into the pedagogy aspect leading to his PHD.

The concert takes place on February 15 at 17h30 at the UKZN, Centre for Jazz and Popular Music, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Howard College Campus, Dennis Shepstone Building, level 2.

Doors open: 17h00. Show starts 17h30. Tickets R100 (R70 pensioners and R40 students)

NB: The music starts promptly at 17h30 due to loadshedding.
