Think of a certain suave, urbane style that reigned in theatre and the movies during the ’20s and ’30s. Think of cigarettes, smoking jackets and cocktails. Think of cynical epigrams, and sexy, witty, world-weary songs.

This ode to Ivor Novello, the matinee idol, Noel Coward, the quintessential English gentleman and the American playboy, Cole Porter, is stylish entertainment at its best, a series of vignettes of each of the “Boys” and, of course the songs that made them immortal.

“Mad About the Boys” is a little funny, a little historical, very musical and exceptionally entertaining. …a blissful hour of enjoyment, laughter, intrigue and song. Daily Dispatch16 Jul 2021 Madeleine Chaput
