The Jazz Centre for Jazz and Popular Music will present Thobeka Ndlovu on Wednesday April 19 at 17h30.
Ndlovu is excited to return to the UKZN Centre for Jazz and Popular Music stage as there's a lot to speak about and to present post the Covid-19 pandemic.
Join Ndlovu and her great band at the UKZN Centre for Jazz for some incredible and fresh music. The music will take you on a journey from Ndlovu being jazz student at UKZN School of Arts, where she will present some of her favourite Jazz standards to her sharing her original songs which she has been working on with her husband pianist Ndumiso Ndlovu. They will be joined by Senzo Mdamba on bass, Sivu Mdamba on drums, Sanele Ntombela on guitar and special guests: Slash horns.
"One exciting aspect of this performance is that I am returning to the stage where I was groomed to be the vocalist that I am today; I will be exploring our compositions with the band, and thus the band is quite big. I typically perform with a four-piece band, so this will undoubtedly be an epic performance,” says Thobeka Ndlovu.
The concert takes place at 17h30 (doors open at 17h00) at the UKZN, Centre for Jazz and Popular Music.
Tickets: R100 (R70 pensioners and R40 students). Booking is essential on email zamat1@ukzn.ac.za
The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music is situated at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Howard College Campus, Dennis Shepstone Building, level 2.
