Dynamic music duo N’den is set to release their debut album Sisingathiwe on June 16, 2023, at Emakhosini Boutique Hotel in Durban.  “The album reflects a shared expression of original music that we have created over the last few years from pre-covid and beyond”, the duo say.

N’den comprises vocalist Thulile Zama and pianist David Smith who met in the early 2000s while studying music at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). Their humble musical beginnings as a duo took off performing in various locations in Durban.  David’s passion for music is undeniable, playing a vital role as a member of the successful Jazz/Hip Hop band Big Idea which made waves throughout the country. Thulile, distinguished by her dazzling voice, is the lead vocalist of the thriving all-female contemporary jazz band Heels Over Heads (best contemporary jazz nominees SAMA – 2011; Yamaha Young Artists winner 2010). Thulile’s versatility as a vocalist is well known and loved within the jazz circuit in Durban.  Her talents have taken her to Hamburg, Berlin, and New Orleans.

Together, they have been part of the Tributes to Mama Africa/Sophiatown band since 2017. The band has performed in various places around the country, and has recently headlined the No Franco # 5 festival in Maputo, Mozambique. In the last few years, the duet has composed original music and covered some of their favourite songs for their YouTube channel and social media spaces. To celebrate this momentous occasion, N’den has planned a Pre-Launch the evening before the public holiday in June at Emakhosini Boutique Hotel.

N'den's 10-track debut album, consisting of all original music will be available on digital Music platforms on June 16, 2023.

“We share the original music that we have created over the last few years from pre- Covid and beyond,” they say.

N’den will perform on June 15, 2023, at 18h00 at the Emakhosini Boutique Hotel, 3 Lumsden Road, Morningside (Durban).
