The 11th African Emerging Filmmakers Awards call out for submissions.

The African Emerging Filmmakers Awards [AEFA] would like to invite filmmakers to submit their films for the 11th African Emerging Filmmakers Awards. The awards have been running for more than ten years, exposing new talent, promoting emergent filmmakers and serving as a networking platform for talent in film and television in South Africa first, and in the rest of the continent.

The awards encourage collaborations for local filmmakers with their counterparts outside the country. The Awards Ceremony will be on November 25, 2023, in the Greyville Racecourse. The film submissions' call-out period opens on September 14 to run until November 14, 2023.

Film producers of African origin from all over the continent are invited to submit their films. Films from any genre can be submitted in a DVD format. Some of the nominated films will be screened in the Mzansi Reel Film Festival which will take place between February 17 and 19, 2024.

Films can be either hand-delivered - during office hours - or sent via post to Durban Film Office, 41 Margaret Mncadi Avenue, Rennie House, 11thFloor no later than November 14, 2023.
