VUSI MKHIZE FOR CENTRE FOR JAZZ

The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music will present veteran guitarist Vusi Mkhize on September 20, 2023, at 17h30.

Mkhize has 20 years performance experience as a band leader, guitarist and music producer. He has worked with many musicians in the industry including the late Deborah Fraser and Gloria Bosman. He has collaborated with the late giants Ray Phiri and Oliver Mtukudzi.

In 2017, Mkhize opened the doors to Khabza De Khabza Arts Centre which he built in Hammarsdale. This centre has five music facilitators who teach musical instruments at the Centre such as keyboards, guitar, bass guitar, drums and percussion on weekends.

For the performance at Centre for Jazz and Popular Music, Vusi Mkhize on guitar will be joined by Mthobisi Mthalane on piano, Mzamo Zungu on drums, Lwazi Mlotshwa on bass, Ntokozo Ntsibande on trumpet, Manelisi Kumalo on saxophone and Siyalo Zulu on Trombone.

The concert takes place on September 20, 2023. Doors open at 17h00. Music starts at 17h30.
