proudly presents Zawadi WaMungu on Wednesday September
6, 2023, at 17h30.
Heritage month kicks off with Mandeni-born vocalist Nkosingiphile Mpanza, known by her stage name ‘Zawadi Yamungu.’
Zawadi is known for her African consciousness and highlighting indigenous music. She passionately plays multiple indigenous musical instruments such as the pennywhistle, umakhweyana and ugubhu which complement Yamnungu’s stunning strong vocal talents.
She will be accompanied by UKZN Alumni and 7th Unisa national piano competition 2023 runner-up Sibonelo Nxumalo on piano and Buhle Hadebe on drums and Lwazi Mlotshwa on bass.
The concert takes place on September 6 (doors open at 17h00. Music starts at 17h30). Tickets R100 (R70 pensioners and R40 students). Booking: zamat1@ukzn.ac.za
