Popular singer Barbie Meyer will be appearing in the Ballito area shortly with her new show: Just Joplin.
This time at The Pumpkin Theatre at La Montagne on Friday November 10.
A Barbie Meyer Production directed by Marke Meyer is an exhilarating account of Janis Joplin’s life & music – a beautiful slice of theatre.
The show opened with great acclaim with sold-out performances.
Hailed as an exhilarating account of a
musical great’s life and music, the icon that was Janis Joplin is played with
supreme verve, humour and pathos by Barbie Meyer.
Meyer is accompanied by members from the band, The Gentry, James Carlsen, Wayne Coughlan and Brent Geldenhuys.
“The show is “a delightfully crazy mix”,” Barbie says, “It includes a bit of her background, the people she mixed with, the characters that inspired her, her untimely death and of course her wild and woolly songs.”
The show takes place at The Pumpkin Theatre at La Montagne on Friday, November 10 at 18h00 for 19h30.
