KEENAN AHRENDS FOR CENTRE FOR JAZZ

 After a successful tour in New York, Keenan Ahrends is set to tour South Africa in February. 

With his trio, his final stop is at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music UKZN, Durban. 

The performance features compositions from his debut album Narrative and his sophomore album Perseverance live at the bird’s eye. 

He is supported by bassist Benjamin Jephta and drummer Sphelelo Mazibuko.

Ahrends is known for his evocative musical writing, his emotive improvisation and his sensitive musicianship. He is an important part of the emerging southern African jazz scene and his flagship sound can be heard on numerous albums and in a diverse array of projects.

These concerts are made possibly through the support of Concerts SA, the Festival Enterprise Catalyst, SAMRO, the National Treasury Jobs Fund, and IKS Cultural Consulting.
