The KickstArt team is “beyond excited to be able to bring
you news about Once
Upon a Tune, a very unique musical theatre cabaret that we are
presenting in association with The Playhouse Company as part of the Women’s
Arts Festival in August.”
Starring the extraordinary Cape Town-based singer Zanne Stapelberg, Once Upon a Tune is a magical and moving collection of songs from various musicals, each of which tell a story.
Directed by celebrated director, Steven Stead, the show had rave reviews at the Suidoosterfees in Cape Town in April, and has been picked up to be showcased at Woordfees in Stellenbosch and Aardklop Festival in October.
Zanne is accompanied on the grand piano by maestro Albie van
Schalkwyk, and you can expect songs from Beauty
and the Beast, A Little Night Music, Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Sunset Boulevard, Follies, Ragtime and
many other classic musicals. Together they create an experience that invites
the audience to muse and meditate on the shifts, shadows and bitter-sweetness
of what it is to be human: to live, to lose, to love, and to laugh.
This is going to be a very special theatrical event, and there is only one performance scheduled on Saturday August 16 at 14h00 in the Playhouse Drama Theatre! Tickets are only R150 each, and you can book them at Webtickets: https://www.webtickets.co.za/v2/event.aspx?itemid=1569582973
