Alliance Francaise of Durban will host a performance on September 9 at 18h30 by Les Grandes Personnes. The show, A la Corde – On the Rope, will be presented in English and is accessible to a wide audience. It relates the story of a little boy called Odilon from birth to death. As in most biographies, Odilon’s life story ifs filled with laughter and sadness.
Spectators take part in the different stages of Odilon’s life, using their hands and voices, repeating sentences and passing sculptures around.
The show ends with a parade of the puppets from the show entitled Les ouristes. This intimate show, conceived to be performed outdoor in the streets, in a courtyard, in a square or a park – encourages the young and the older to take part in this wonderful experience of change and creativity.
