Well-known jazz personality Brian Thusi pays tribute to the late jazz musician.
The death of Bheki Mseleku is a great loss to the jazz community internationally and also nationally. This country has never had a musician who was self-taught and managed to bring himself to this world level.
I know him from the days of Expressions in the early 70's and then Drive around 1975 to about 1977. He then joined Spirits Rejoice with Duke Makasi. I then worked with him in the Drive 1979 in Cape Town before he left the country.
He will certainly be missed in the jazz circles in the country. - Brian Thusi
