CLASSICFEEL EXPANDS EVEN FURTHER

CLASSICFEEL magazine has taken Durban by storm.

After successfully expanding early this year to become a consumer magazine with a nationwide reach, CLASSICFEEL magazine has taken Durban by storm.

In January of this year, CLASSICFEEL, South Africa’s prime showcase of music, arts, culture and lifestyle, became a consumer magazine. CLASSICFEEL was launched in 2002 in collaboration with Johannesburg-based radio station Classic fM 102.7 as a customer magazine and grew steadily in terms of both content and readership. Now more South Africans can have their very own copy of this coveted arts and culture magazine.

Becoming a consumer magazine required broadening the distribution of the magazine to reach loyal and potential readers across the country. The unique magazine is now available at CNAs, Spar, Exclusive Books and other independent bookstores nationwide.

‘With this growth, the magazine finally had the opportunity to fulfil a longstanding desire to cover the Durban scene. Now the monthly newsletter from Caroline Smart, called Durban Smarts, brings readers all the best entertainment news directly from KwaZulu-Natal. This in addition to the magazine’s strong presence in Johannesburg and Cape Town, with extensive coverage of theatre, opera performances, exhibitions and events in Johannesburg and Rodney Trudgeon’s monthly Cape Town Letter,’ says publisher and editor-in-chief Lore Watterson.

CLASSICFEEL’s expansion is driven by the response to a high standard of information on classical and jazz music, visual arts, film and theatre, as well as food and travel, from South Africa and around the world. CLASSICFEEL is an award-winning monthly magazine that speaks to a niche, high-end market with discerning tastes across gender, race and age. The high standard of the magazine has won the sought-after Arts and Culture Trust Award and a BASA Award, as well as the PICA Award for Excellence in Publishing.

CLASSICFEEL magazine is dedicated to providing the best in music, arts, culture and lifestyle to a national readership that demands only the best in all aspects of their lives. With this passionate vision, who knows where to from here…?

CLASSICFEEL generously provided 300 giveaway copies to hand out at the Witness Hilton Arts Festival last weekend. The response was extremely positive and paves the way for the magazine’s stronger presence n KZN – Caroline Smart
