I LOVE A PIANO

Popular celebration at Hilton of music focused on the world’s most versatile musical instrument.

Pietermaritzburg and Hilton audiences are in for a treat with the upcoming I Love A Piano performance on October 18 at the Hilton College Theatre.

This popular celebration of music focused on the world’s most versatile musical instrument has been presented annually since 2004 creating a fun and entertaining performance. With appearances by both acclaimed and up-coming musicians, showcasing the piano in a solo and accompanying role, the selection is set to once again enthral with an incredible variety of music and musicians one stage.

Directed by Music Revival’s Christopher Duigan, artists in this year’s line–up include classical pianist and Music Master at Hilton College, Albie Odendaal, and jazz pianist Neil Gonsalves, lecturer at UKZN’s Centre for Jazz Studies and one of South Africa’s foremost jazz exponents. They will be joined by the popular Cape Town-based classical guitarist James Grace, Jarryd Nurden (a finalist in the High School Musical auditions as seen on national TV) and Rowan Stuart, guitarist, singer and song writer who has won the hearts of many with his performances at the Concert in the Park and at the Witness Hilton Arts Festival.

Stuart will be performing tracks from his first solo album along with the other musicians. Pianist Christopher Duigan also performs with several of the artists.
