Playhouse New Stages production showcases talent of those with various disabilities.
As part of its short season of New Stages shows to be seen in Durban in October, The Playhouse Company presents In Blood, a bravely conceived arts project staged by African Sinakho as a showcase for the wide-ranging talent and commitment of a cast of 15 performers with various disabilities.
Presented in the Playhouse Drama theatre for one performance only on 18 October at 19h30, the production seeks to entertain audiences with mix of newly composed wedding songs, dance and poetry.
The production is themed around the central concept of human Blood, the source of life and sustenance that keeps us all functioning from day to day, that essential substance that is common to us all. This serves as a unifying thread that underlines a very real sense of commonality between the performers (whose message is ‘We Can’) and their audience.
Tickets for In Blood R30 booked through Computicket on 083 915 8000, or call Playhouse Box Office on 031 369 9540 (office hours).
