Entertainer extraordinaire for Sibaya over the festive season.

Internationally-renowned, inventor, comedian, musician and Master of Unusual Comedy - Michel Lauzière will perform at the iZulu Theatre, Sibaya Casino & Entertainment Kingdom from December 12, 2008 to January 11, 2009.

Michel Lauzière has performed his one-man stage show on five continents for an estimated 1 billion viewers. His creative performances featuring impressive musical and visual effects earned him appearances on major television networks including Showtime, Comedy Central and HBO. Millions of spectators all over the world have seen him on more than 75 television variety shows including Just For Laughs, The Arsenio Hall Show, The American Comedy Awards and The Jerry Lewis Telethon.

This extraordinary entertainer is a combination of inventor, acrobat, comedian, musician and juggler rolled up into one charismatic performer.

From actually climbing into a massive balloon to the musical theme of 2001: A Space Odyssey, to playing classical and popular music with his famous horn suit, water guns or absolutely anything he can find, Lauzière reveals some of the most original and unique sight gags ever performed.

A self-taught musician, he always surprises his audience with his inventive ideas. Michel Lauzière is an artist who invariably dazzles with his humour, tenderness, wit and incredible skills.

At the media launch, journalists enjoyed a live international link-up between media personality Terrence Pillay and Michel Lauzière when the latter provided some amusing answers to the questions put to him, giving some indication of the whacky off-beat but carefully thought-out humour that he presents through music. His work almost defies description but to give you a taste of what to expect at Sibaya, visit the websites noted below.

The show opens at Sibaya’s iZulu Theatre on December 12. Shows are on Tuesdays to Sundays and there are matinees and early evening shows on selected days. Tickets R135 throughout (R80 for children under 16 on December 17 & 18, January 7 & 8 at 19h30 and December 24 at 18h30). Booking is through Computicket.
