The featured artist for the Heartstrings benefit concert on October 18 in Hillcrest is Tim Moloi who has performed for Madiba, wowed audiences in Los Angeles and appeared in several stage productions including His Way: A Tribute to Frank Sinatra and Little Shop of Horrors.

Born and raised in Soweto; Timothy Moloi grew up the son of a Baptist minister in a home filled with song. It is this love for music, and his flair for infusing familiar and beloved melodies with a new freshness, that has made him a favourite with audiences throughout South Africa.

However, Moloi is not the only star on stage that night. He will be joined by the versatile Lauren Dasappa and acclaimed violin quartet BraVa. “The programme is versatile and set to cater to most music lovers’ tastes,” says Sharon Roberts, public relations officer of Ethelbert Children’s Home. “Naturally the main attraction is the KZNPO which is celebrating their 25th anniversary – they are always brilliant and with Heartstrings, will be performing both classics and contemporary favourites. Young and old will definitely enjoy this performance and by coming to enjoy the night with us, they help a child.”

Heartstrings takes place on October 18 at 19h30 at the Hillcrest Christian Fellowship Auditorium on Inanda Road. Tickets R70 available at Hillcrest KwikSPAR, Kloof SuperSPAR, Knowles SuperSPAR, Richdens SuperSPAR, Waterfall SuperSPAR, Westville SuperSPAR, Ethelbert Children’s Home and Hillcrest Christian Fellowship. Seating is unreserved and tickets will also be available at the door.
