M-Net to screen hilarious musical starring John Travolta.

Hairspray is a remake of the 1988 film that launched Ricki Lake's career. This time Nikki Blonsky is the lucky newcomer to star as "pleasantly plump" Baltimore teen Tracy Turnblad, who gets the opportunity to dance on her favourite music show and sets about integrating it so her black friends can also get a chance. John Travolta co-stars in drag as Tracy's ever-supportive mother, Edna.

M-Net will screen Hairspray on December 24 at 23h05. The movie was directed by Adam Shankman, starring John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer and Christopher Walken.
