LAST NIGHT OF THE PROMS

KZNPO to perform popular concert in Pietermaritzburg on February 27.

The KZN Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Russian Maestro Naum Rousine will perform Last Night of the Proms concert in Pietermaritzburg on February 27.

The concert features visiting soprano and tenor soloists as well as the Durban Symphonic Choir, the Maritzburg Singers and the choirs of Maritzburg College and Pietermaritzburg Girls High. The programme will include Nessun Dorma; O Mio Babbino Caro; Funiculi Funicula; O Sole Mio; Jerusalem; Land of Hope and Glory and Rule Britannia.

The folksong section includes Swing Low Sweet Chariot (England); Call To Ireland (Ireland); I Vow To Thee My Country (Wales); Flower of Scotland (Scotland); Saint Saens 4th Movement Symphony 3 as well as other well-known favourites. Christopher Cockburn will perform on the City Hall organ.

Last Night of the Proms takes place in the Pietermaritzburg City Hall on February 27 at 19h30. Prices R175 to R160; R135 to R120, and R125 to R115.
