Watercolour Society of South Africa. (National) Group exhibition for Kizo Art Gallery.
After a long and worthwhile wait, the Watercolour Society of South Africa is bringing their highly anticipated national exhibition to Kizo Art Gallery at Gateway.
The Society is amongst a few surviving art societies left in South Africa and has over the years proven to be a much-needed network for artists in general. Due to the high quality of works presented for auction at Sotheby’s in Johannesburg a couple of months ago, one can expect the same standard in the show, if not better.
The medium of watercolour painting is extremely challenging and one that requires a lot of skill and patience. Because of the diverse membership base of the society, art lovers can expect a variety of works reflecting the diversity and interests of the artists belonging to the society.
“We at Kizo are especially proud to be hosting this ground-breaking exhibition,” says Kizo curator Nathi Gumede.
The Watercolour Society of South Africa. (National) Group exhibition will be opened by Fransie Pretorius in the Upstairs Gallery at Kizo Art Gallery on February 19 at 18h30 and thereafter runs to March 20.
