“Woodstock Remembers” and “A Taste of Thomson 3” for Hillcrest venue.

Running at the Heritage Theatre in Hillcrest until May 17 is Woodstock Remembered.

“Three Days of Peace & Music” … that’s how the promoters sold it. It turned out to be the biggest rock concert the world had ever seen. This year celebrates the 40th anniversary of the phenomenon known as Woodstock. The Heritage show features music from some of the artists and bands who performed there, including Bob Dylan, The Band, Grateful Dead, Van Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Joan Baez, Santana, Grand Funk Railroad and many more.

Back by popular demand, the snake-hipped Barry Thomson takes centre stage again with A Taste Of Thomson 3 which runs from May 19 to 30. Barry will perform unplugged with the Heritage band which includes Dawn Selby, Lloyd de Gier and Mali Sewell. The show is a salute to the music of guitar legends such as Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Chuck Berry and Gary Moore and includes original songs on Barry’s new album.

Tickets which include a two-course meal are R165 Tuesday dinner and Sunday lunch and R190 Wednesday to Saturday. Call 031 765 4197 for more information or to book or go to www.heritagetheatre.co.za
