MOTHERS DAY AT BOTANIC GARDENS

Celebrate Mothers Day in the Durban Botanic Gardens with the KZNPO.

Old Mutual and East Coast Radio Durban’s No 1 presents a special concert and fun afternoon for youngsters in the Durban Botanic Gardens on May 10 celebrating all moms at the Music at the Lake Mothers Day Concert titled Memories Are Made Of This…

Spend the afternoon with family and friends, pack a picnic and relax in this beautiful lakeside arena in a special “double bill” programme.

At 13h45, the KZN Youth Orchestra will perform for 20 minutes playing a selection of music in a tribute to their moms. This will be followed at 14h30 by the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Lykele Temmingh, with a programme of classics and contemporary music.

Soloists Melanie Roberts and Natalie Rungan have each chosen their favourite songs to evoke all those happy and joyous memorable moments shared with mothers wherever they are.

Kids Zone is a recent addition to these afternoon concerts. Parents can relax and enjoy the music, while the children are entertained and kept busy during the concert in an area set aside for the purpose.

The concert on May 10 starts at 13h45 but gates open at 12h30. Tickets R80 (R20 children aged 6 to 12) booked through Computicket on 083 915 8000 and also from the Info Centre in the Durban Botanic Gardens on 031 3091170 (open 7 days /week). Book tickets early and enjoy picnicking under the palm trees.

Secure parking is available on the Juventus ground off lower St Thomas Road, adjacent to the Botanic Gardens and the Munies Hockey Field off lower Sydenham Road.
