Abbo Hall and Pan Latino to perform in Pietermaritaburg on May 12.
Coming up for the Pietermaritzburg Musicians Club at the Red Door in Pietermaritzburg on May 12 at 20h00 is a mix of top local artists with Abbo Hall and Pan Latino.
Having played at the first four Splashys with Plagal Cadence, Abbo has appeared several other times over the years with a variety of different groups. Always playing his own self-penned material, he draws on a bluest, folk-rock tradition with elements of reggae, classical & country. His songs explore the need to find one's spirit or they comment on human kind's self inflicted state of being on our beautiful planet
Lovers of Latin and African rhythm, will be invigorated and energized by the sounds of Pan Latino. The band was formed in 2007 by Bolivian born Kéch Sánchez (vocals, charango, guitar and pan pipes) who has lived and performed in South America, Europe and South Africa. The other musicians are John Bossé (bass), Daniël Rossouw (lead guitar) and Chris Melling (percussion), all from Howick. Their music is a result of old and new generations laying down their touch of different influences and styles, mixing them into the band’s distinctive and different pot of jamming with a strong Latin influence. Pan Latino has just released their first album called Gondwanaland.
