YOSSI’S TURNS FIVE

Free cappuccino or glass of wine with after-show meal if you produce your theatre ticket.

Exactly five years ago, the suburb of Glenwood turned a corner when an ambitious community-spirited restaurateur Darryl Hofmann opened Yossi’s, a modest but watershed restaurant / café. Keeping the celebratory mood, Hofmann is offering a free glass of wine with every meal from original menu served during May. If theatre-goers produce their theatre ticket, they can enjoy a free cappuccino or glass of wine with their after-show meal. Hofmann is particularly grateful for the on-going support of the arts and theatre communities and loves hosting patrons who come for a bite after gallery openings or theatre shows.

Yossi’s pioneered the busy Glenwood strip, its opening resulting in the bustling, vibey Davenport Road restaurant and café precinct. Yossi’s has grown from strength to strength, but has not lost any of its casual bohemian charm. It still serves an array of spicy, fragrant Moroccan inspired dishes. It still offers candlelight and comfy cushions. For their birthday season, they are reverting to their opening menu for regulars to enjoy some culinary nostalgia.

Understanding that money is tight, Hofmann has introduced some Mad Moroccan Monday night specials for the budget conscious and has created a range of especially affordable meals. Their functions are unique in that the can offer henna artists, fire performers, belly dancers etc to add to the vibe of the function.

Yossi’s fifth birthday season starts on May 14. The public are welcome to enjoy the specials and re-live the great food to be found on the menu five years ago! Yossi’s is open for lunch and dinner most days and can be found on 127 Davenport Road, Glenwood. Contact 031 201 0090.
