“3RD & BIRD!” FLIES TO AFRICA

Latest hit for pre-schoolers premieres on CBeebies (DSTV channel 306) in Africa.

The animated series 3rd & Bird! for younger viewers, airs on CBeebies (DSTV channel 306) from June 4 at 08h20.

3rd & Bird! is about a community of birds that live, learn and play in the branches of a beautiful old tree. The vibrant treetop community of 3rd & Bird! is alive with singing, whistling and dancing. In each episode, young viewers are invited to follow Samuel and Muffin Lovebird, two adorable young birds, as they explore their community and their world.

As Samuel and Muffin participate in community activities such as parades, building projects, or assisting an elderly bird, they learn lessons about diversity, tolerance or perseverance. In turn, children at home learn the value of being an active member of their community.

John Taite, Director of Programming, EMEA, BBC Worldwide Channels, said: “We are delighted to bring 3rd & Bird to CBeebies in Africa. We know our viewers will love its mix of catchy sing-along songs and beautifully animated characters. Imaginative and heart-warming, it’s a perfect addition to our popular programmes such as In The Night Garden and Charlie & Lola.”

Created by Josh Selig and his company Little Airplane Productions, 3rd & Bird! uses Little Airplanes' own unique technique of photo-puppetry animation and is an irreverent, joyful series filled with humour and an eclectic cast of flying characters. The series is executive produced by Kay Benbow and Chris Rose for CBeebies.
