One of the finest drama series to be found on BBC Entertainment in the forthcoming week is Judge John Deed which will be screened every night from Monday June 1 at 20h30 until June 4.
For Judge John Deed, following the letter of the law can be tricky when the courtroom is clouded with conspiracy, heartbreak and outrage. A passion for doing right often leaves Deed at odds with his colleagues, family and lovers. Is all fair in the pursuit of justice?
In a pair of nail-biting two-part stories, series five sees the eponymous judge sent to the Hague as the British representative at the International Criminal Court, where he must try a young soldier for war crimes in Iraq. Instead he uncovers nefarious reasons for bringing him to trial, while back in the UK a scandal involving pharmaceutical companies and withdrawn legal aid leads right to the heart of the Government.
The series stars Martin Shaw as Judge John Deed; Jenny Seagrove as Jo Mills and Donald Sinden as Sir Joseph Channing.
