MARRIED TO THE MOB

On June 22 at 19h30, M-Net Stars (Channel 105) will screen the movie Married to the Mob directed in 1988 by Jonathan Demme and starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Dean Stockwell.

A widow starts a new life in New York City, only to have an FBI agent and her husband’s killer both falling in love with her.

This wacky gangster comedy stars a meltingly beautiful Michelle Pfeiffer as a gangster’s moll, complete with teased hair, lashings of mascara and stick-on nails. Angelo is tired of living in a house filled with furniture and appliances “that fell off a truck”. She wants a divorce, she tells her husband Frank.

Frank, a hit man with a roving eye, tells her she’ll never escape the Mob, but before she can put his statement to the test, he is killed. Angela puts her son into a different school, moves into a small flat and gets a job in a hair salon. But her freedom is short-lived: an FBI agent, who thinks she has information about her husband’s killer, comes after her, as does the killer, who has developed a crush on the lovely widow!
