Habit To, Avatar & Toi Toi Toy to perform at Robson’s Shongweni Brewery on June 6
Three musos from Durban come together in one harmonious blend of rock / jazz / classical / pop at Robson’s Shongweni Brewery on June 6.
This recipe cooks up mouth-watering vocals and guitar solos from Michelle “Chillie” Stent the leading lady of Habit To. Dale “Dang” Wardell exists as the backbone and chief of the kit, delivering the beats for an army to march to. Not forgetting the foundation laid down by Andy Stent who uses his bass to bring the trio down to earth and then dishes up the full course meal of musical madness.
AVATAR draws on the rich musical heritage of the Fataar family. Core members are Dain - beat-box extraordinaire, Steve (the Flames) and Tara – Splashy Fen audiences will remember hearing her as a 12-year old when she received a standing ovation from the then 5,000 strong Splashy Fen main-stage-audience and later as a 13 year old where she performed alongside the likes of Sibongile Khumalo at the Cancer Association's night of 100 stars. Now 25, Tara has just completed producing her debut album, entitled AVATAR.
Toi Toi Toy offers a cocktail of tribal beats, classic jazz and alternative rock on unusual instruments presented with experience from years of playing with these toys in different fields.
The performance takes place on June 6 at 15h00 at Robson’s Shongweni Brewery Kassier Road, Shongweni. (Take the Assagay offramp from N3/M13). Entrance R70 – bookings on 072 280 1949
