CAROL TRENCH SOIREES

Two different soirees now Carol Trench is here from Norway.

Fans of Carol Trench, Anthony Stonier and Evan Roberts will all remember the highly popular Swansong Soiree series that was held in Sue Clarence’s home shortly before Carol set off for the chilly climes of Norway – her new home.

Carol is back in South Africa for a while and this musical trio has grabbed the opportunity to offer the public two different soirees.

Chanson – A Celebration of French Song will be held on the evenings of July 24 and 25 at 1900 for 1930. This elegant music revue encapsulates the romance, beauty and heartache of this French art form. Starring the multi award winning trio of Carol Trench, Anthony Stonier and Evan Roberts, this performance features the well-known songs of Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Charles Aznavour, Michel le Grand and others. Sit back and be taken on a relaxed musical journey celebrating the unique sound that is "chanson". Expect to hear favourites such as: La Vie en Rose, She, Mon Dieu, Sailor Boys, Non Je Regrette Rien, Hymne de L’amour, Gay Paris and Milord – amongst others, of course!

From September 24 to 26, the soiree will feature all the songs from the award winning music revue Let’s Misbehave. After four highly successful seasons in Durban and Cape Town ... and a break of six years ....this music revue celebrates misbehaving... in all its forms! Don’t miss this slick, witty, stylish revue that takes a musical journey through the delights, pitfalls, joys and woes that result from misbehaving. Sophisticated and naughty, Billy Suter dubbed it "slick and elegant; sassy!"

All three performers are darlings of the Durban music revue scene, and have won numerous awards for their vocal, musical and acting ability, not only for this particular revue but for many others as well. Carol is probably best known for her velvet voice and her stunning performance as Eliza Doolittle in the recent production of My Fair Lady. Anthony is famous for his annual performances in the adult pantomimes which he also writes and directs, as well as for his award winning revue, Brutal Tunes, also starring Lisa Bobbert. They can both currently be seen in Winnie the Pooh. Evan is the musical genius and accomplished musical director behind many of Durban’s best revues and musicals, notably those produced by the astounding company Kickstart – The Wizard of Oz, Cinderella and Little Shop of Horrors, to name but a few.
