Lunch-hour concert in Pietermaritzburg’s Tatham Art Gallery to feature Sabine Baird and Violetta Osorhean.
The next in the Free Lunch Hour Concert Series at the Tatham Art Gallery is a special school holiday concert, Music for Young People.
In an especially tailored concert aimed at young audiences, Christopher Duigan will be joined by Sabine Baird (flute and saxophone) and Violetta Osorhean ( violin), both principal players from the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra in Durban. Making a special guest appearance is young violinist Laura Osorhean (11).
Their presentation will demonstrate the mechanics of their instruments - violin, flute, saxophone and piano - and include popular and familiar classical and popular compositions including The Entertainer, Pink Panther and classical selection by Chopin, Haydn and the celebrated Czardas by Monti.
Presented by the Friends of the Tatham Art Gallery (FOTAG) in association with Music Revival, the concert takes place on July 8 at 13h10. Admission is free.
