Lots to cheer about! Halala eThekwini 2009 throughout Durban September 09.
An increasingly key season on the city’s busy events calendar is the annual Celebrate Durban programme.
The Celebrate Durban festival, run by the eThekwini municipality is now in its 9th year of operation. Each year the municipality undertakes this festival to celebrate our cultural diversity – our music, arts, food and dance.
The season will focus on events which will be concentrated in the ICC, DEC and Workshop complex / Gugu Dhlamini Park, City Hall and seven zonal precincts. The programme will include various categories of music, community cultural festivals, an extensive ward based sports programme and various other events to promote and celebrate South Africa’s cultural diversity.
This year Durban once again hosts its international sister cities as guests for the Celebrate Durban festival. Delegates from the 12 sister cities will arrive in Durban to celebrate with us.For more information, contact the Department of International and Governance Relations in the eThekwini Municipality on 031 311 2104.
