The concert on September 17 is titled Classical Energy. Flautist Denis Kirch makes his debut with the KZNPO with Reinecke's Flute Concerto in D major, under the baton of Lykele Temmingh. Dvorák's Sixth Symphony, with its soaring lyrical and powerful themes, concludes the programme.
Friends of Music hold pre-concert lectures at 18h15 on concert nights. Entrance is R30 pp and includes light refreshments. The lecturer on September 17 will be Ted Brien.
