Russian State Kuban Cossack Dance Company to give two performances on September 13.

Hot on the heels of the sold-out tours to Durban this year by the Bolshoi Ballet and the Imperial Russian Ballet comes the world-renowned Russian State Kuban Cossack Dance Company. Presented in South Africa by Edouard Miasnikov Productions, the “Cossacks” will appear in two shows at the Playhouse Drama on September 13.

One of Russia’s most popular dance companies, the Cossacks are part of the State Academic Kuban Cossack Choir with a history that goes back to 1811. Artistic Director Victor Zakharchenko is a composer, folklorist, a People’s Artist of Russia and the Ukraine and Laureate of the State Prize of Russia.

The company’s spectacular costumes and expressive style have enchanted crowds and received critical accolade throughout the world, including USA, Japan, China, Australia, Mexico, France, Germany, Spain, Norway, Vietnam, Korea, Sweden, Portugal, South Africa, Morocco, Poland, Belgium, Hungary and Bulgaria.

Performances on September 13 take place in the Playhouse Drama at 14h30 and 18h00. Tickets range from R135 to R225. Early booking is advised at Computicket outlets or online at
