DISCOUNT REGISTRATION FOR SUMMIT

NAC announces discount registration for NGOs and students for 4th World Summit on Arts & Culture

The National Arts Council of South Africa (NAC), organisers of the 4th World Summit on Arts and Culture, has announced reduced registration fees for non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and for students.

The NAC is hosting the Summit, to be held from September 22 to 25 at Museum Africa, Newtown Cultural Precinct, Johannesburg, with the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies. The Summit has a strong focus on fostering intercultural dialogue and the discounted registration fee for NGOs and students from developing countries will encourage exchange among a greater cross-section of delegates.

The registration fee for delegates from developing countries is R4,900 (already reduced from the full fee of R9,900) and the fee for professional artists and arts administrators is R3,300.

The further discounted price announced today will mean that NGOs wishing to register more than one delegate are able to access a 50% discount on additional registrations once the first registration is paid in full. The discounted rate (R1,650) is available for up to five registrations per organisation.

Also announced is a discounted rate for students of R1,500 for a full Summit delegate pass. Student discount registrations are limited to a maximum of 30. A valid student card must be produced to validate the student discount.

Says Annabell Lebethe, CEO: National Arts Council, “As hosts of the 4th World Summit on Arts and Culture, a key NAC objective is to create a platform that engages a diversity of players. We encourage NGOs to attend in order to amplify the civil society voices on issues linked to cultural diversity and inter-cultural dialogue.” Ms Lebethe went on to say that student participation is equally important in the quest for a plurality of voices. “We encourage arts and culture students to take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity. The calibre of the speakers, the spread of topics and the networking opportunities at the Summit present an invaluable resource for students”, stated Ms Lebethe.
