Company of Theatre Arts present musical review at Rhumbelow Theatre.
The Company of Theatre Arts, COTA, is a long established amateur performance company, having put on highly professional shows at The Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre (Everything old is new again, To be Frank, Godspell), the Rhumbelow Theatre (Denim to Diamonds, Musical Mania, Rhythm of Life), the Westville Civic Centre (Stage & Screen, Blast thru the Past, One Hit Wonders), to name but a few.
In 2003, The Company made its first, hugely successful, journey to the Rhumbelow Theatre, performing Rhythm of Life. This was followed by a further two highly acclaimed music reviews, Musical Mania in 2005 and Denim 2 Diamonds in 2006.
The Company returns to The Rhumbelow from September 10 to 13 to perform Good, Bad & Outrageous. This musical review is an eclectic mix of covers from artists and performers who are widely regarded as 'good' (the likes of The Beach Boys, Michael BublĂ©, Kelly Clarkson, Chicago), ‘bad’ (Christine Aguilera, Janet Jackson, Robbie Williams) or ‘outrageous’ (Lady Gaga, Madonna, Elton John) ... to name but a few.
With Act 1 set in a daytime street scene and Act 2 in a vibrant nightclub, the underlying theme throughout the show is 'love'; the glue that binds all the good, bad and outrageous together. The show offers the successful formula of modern dance styles interlaced with comedy and lively entertainment.
Good, Bad & Outrageous has performances on September 10 at 19h30, September 11 and 12 at 20h00 with two shows on September 13 at 13h30 and 18h30. The venue opens 90 minutes before show for picnic dinner.
Tickets R80. Take along food picnic baskets and braais will be available. There is limited secure parking and booking is essential. A cash bar is available (no alcohol may be brought on to the premises). Rhumbelow Theatre is situated in Cunningham Avenue off Bartle Road.
