Nu Metro Cinema launches Opera and Ballet Circle (music, dance and film)

Nu Metro will showcase the world’s most prestigious contemporary performing arts companies in Opera and Ballet Circle, an ongoing series of spectacular operas and ballets from the end of September.

“The season kicks off with the sensational Renée Fleming in the opera, La Traviata by Verdi, followed by The Barber of Seville (Rossini), Falstaff (Verdi) and then The Nutcracker in December 2009, which will be the first ballet to be presented on cinema screens in South Africa.

These productions are captured live, in High Definition, from locations such as the Royal Opera House (Covent Garden, London), Palais Garnier (Paris), Teatro Real (Madrid), Gran Teatre del Liceu (Barcelona), War Memorial (San Francisco) and other great stages of the world.

These HD productions are presented exclusively by DigiScreen and its partners to audiences in more than 300 cinemas across the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Europe, Australia and Japan.
