Well-known music personality Steve Fataar is to perform with his band on September 11 at Alliance Française.
Crowned a living treasure by the Mayor of Durban in September 2000, South African musician and pioneer Steve Fataar has had the pleasure and success of performing with his family through the turn of the century. Together with his brothers, The Flames whose single For Your Precious Love was a chart-topper for 13 weeks, Steve has travelled England and America, touring with the Beach Boys. These days he lives and plays in Durban, very often performing with his daughter Tara.
The Fataars’ performances are always fresh and interesting, with any number of collaborations with artists from all genres, all age groups, all styles! One of his present projects is The Steve Fataar Band, comprising Mthunzi Mchunu on bass, Steve Fataar on guitar and vocals and a surprise pianist and drummer. Steve will be playing a host of new songs he has written, as well as a few of the big hits from the 60s & 70s when he toured with the Flames!
The performance takes place at 19h30 on September 11 at Alliance Française de Durban, corner Sutton and Lillian Ngoyi (Windermere) Roads. Entrance R55 bookings through Debbie on 072 280 1949.
