Plans forge ahead for the Umcebo Trust Eco-Tree.
The Umcebo Trust down at the uShaka Village Walk is abuzz with activity as plans forge ahead for the Umcebo Trust Eco-Tree.
The first section has now arrived and a workshop is planned with the students from Clarendon Home.
“We are training them in how to make Eco-Beads from 2 litre soft drink bottles, and they will supply us as part of an income generation drive for their students,” explains Umcebo director Robin Opperman. “The tree will be completed by December and will be unveiled at the 2010 Design Indaba. We are going to contact the Chelsea Flower Show as well, to see if they are interested in the tree.”
Umcebo would be delighted to have donations of any wine corks - both of the cork or plastic variety.
