WALTER GAETA FOR UKZN MUSIC

Famous Italian jazz pianist gives a one-off concert at the Centre For Jazz.

The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music at the University of KwaZulu-Natal hosts a special jazz concert on September 18 which will feature famous Italian jazz pianist Walter Gaeta (Italy) and Eric Arellano (USA) sax with local musicians Prince Bulo (bass) and Bruce Baker (drums).

Walter Gaeta has performed in numerous festivals in Europe and the United States as a pianist, arranger and conductor. He is well known to European audiences for his command of many styles of jazz playing and his high standard of performance. He has a Diploma in Piano from the Music Conservatory of "L. D'Annunzio" in Pescara and Honours Degree in Jazz from the Music Conservatory of "S. Cecilia" in Rome

The show starts at 17h30. Tickets cost R20 (R10 students). For more information contact Glynis at the Jazz Centre on 031 260 3385. The popular cash bar will be open and there is plenty of parking.
