Seven awards worth R800,000 in total await prizewinning entries.
The Africa Centre presents the Spier Contemporary 2010 with the generous support of Spier. The final submission deadline for the Spier Contemporary 2010 is on October 30.
There are up to seven awards that are worth R800,000 in total. In addition, all artists selected will receive a fee of R4,000. This makes the total fees and awards worth R1.2 million. The exhibition is designed to expose artists to new audiences and markets, both local and international. The exhibition will tour Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban with over 50,000 people expected to view it in these three cities.
This is the one exhibition and competition where artists may enter that artwork they have always wanted to make, without restrictions or constraints.
Artwork or proposals for artworks can be submitted in three ways:
Delivered to one of the 13 selection centres across the country in the week of October 26 to 30 or submit via www.spiercontemporary.co.za; or posted to Africa Centre, PO Box 137, Lynedoch, Stellenbosch, 7603.
