The world’s leading motoring show revs onto BBC Entertainment.

Currently running on BBC Entertainment (channel 120 on DStv) is Top Gear, the world’s leading motoring show.

A consistent ratings hit and broadcast in over 100 countries worldwide, Top Gear takes the public's passion for cars, strips away the boring stats and adds enthusiasm and thrilling challenges to bring a first-class entertainment show that can be enjoyed by all.

In the new series, the trio of the inimitable Jeremy Clarkson, James ‘Captain Slow’ May and Richard ‘Hamster’ Hammond try their hand at HGV driving, take the new generation of muscle cars on an epic road trip from San Francisco to Utah, and test a battery-powered super car.

They also try their hand at giving sound financial advice as they attempt to make a normal second-hand car lap the track as fast as a purpose-built sports saloon, and race from southern France to North-West England to turn on the Blackpool illuminations in the most economical way possible.

There is also a selection of the best new cars including the Lamborghini Gallardo LP-560, the Porsche 911 GT2, the classic Ferrari Daytona, the Pagani Zonda F Roadster and most exciting of all, the new Ford Fiesta.

The final episode in the series follows the boys as they set off to Vietnam and attempt to travel the entire country in just eight days, thereby achieving what the American military failed to do in 10 years. However, first they must each buy some suitable transport for the trip and - despite having several million Dong in their pockets - this proves to be of rather less value than they originally thought, especially in one of the most expensive car markets in the world.

All the tried-and-tested Top Gear favourites also return, including ‘the news’, ‘the cool wall’ and The Stig who puts celebrities through their paces with the ‘Star in the Reasonably Priced Car’ feature.

Top Gear Series 12 can be seen on Wednesdays at 21h30 on BBC Entertainment (channel 120 on DStv). Classic Top Gear episodes will also be aired on the same channel across the week at 18h30. The series is sponsored in Africa by Glasfit.
