UKZN JAZZ CENTRE EVENTS

Jazz evenings are held at the Centre for Jazz at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Jazz evenings are held at the Centre for Jazz at the University of KwaZulu-Natal on a regular basis:

October 9: Pieces of a Band featuring Lebo Sebele, Ntokozo Mayisela, Zoe Masuku (vocals) Lindi Ngonela (piano) Llewlyn Chetty (bass) and Leroy Khumalo (drums).

October 14: Strings ‘An Skins featuring Greg Georgiades (North African fretless lute - oud - bouzouki and guitar), Ashish Joshi (tabla, djembe, darbukah and dhol) and Steve Newman (guitar).

October 16: Suncoast Jazz Talent Competition finals featuring Eyam, Soothing Sounds, Amani and Meropa. Entrance is free.

October 21: School of Music Festival – Jazz student ensembles

October 22: School of Music Festival – Popular Voice evening

October 27: Twosday with MC Ewok and Vishen Kemraj (tabla). Please note change of time: 18h30 to 19h30.

October 28 to 29: UKZN Youth Jazz Festival.

October 30: To be announced

October 31: Jazz Jol UKZN Big Band & UKZN Voices offering jazz, jazz and lots more jazz from 19h00 till late. Tickets R70 (R35 students).

Unless otherwise stated, admission is R20 (R10 students). The music runs from 17h30 to 19h00. More information on 031 260 3385 NB: Programme subject to change
